Along with artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, the Internet of Things (IoT) is at the centre of the digitisation of the world economy. With devices becoming ever smarter in collecting data, processing and transmitting information, and triggering actions in real-time, the IoT is at the heart of this digital transformation, integrating devices, data, computing power and connectivity.
We are looking for an Internet of Things researcher and project manager to join our Connected, Cooperative and Automated System department that will manage automotive-related research projects. The automotive industry has arrived at an inflexion point: a shift towards autonomous, connected, electric and smart technologies. This shift promises to disrupt markets while improving efficiency and sustainability of transportation of people and goods.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of researchers in research projects related to IoT, digital technologies, artificial intelligence and data analytics applied to the automotive sector.
- Coordinate collaborative projects with external partners, including scheduling meetings, managing communication, and facilitating collaboration.
- Track project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Lead the writing of comprehensive reports, synthesizing inputs from various project partners to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Stay updated on industry trends, scientific advances, and emerging technologies relevant to the automotive sector.
- Publish and present research results in conferences and scientific journals.
Candidates must have:
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in project management of at least 2 years, preferably in a collaborative environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of IoT architectures, protocols, standards, and technologies.
- Scientific publications in a field related to Internet of Things (communications, computer science, etc).
- Strong programming skills and experience with Python or C/C++.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in writing reports.
