VASCUNET - Comprehensive Planning Platform for Remote Consultation and Planning of Aortic Pathologies Managed Endovascularly

The aim of VASCUNET (Comprehensive Planning Platform for Remote Consultation and Planning of Aortic Pathologies Managed Endovascularly) project is to develop a software platform for an integrated approach to pathologies treatable by endovascular aortic repair (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, EVAR).

Based on medical image analysis of Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), the platform will consist of advanced planning software for Thoracic and Thoraco-Abdominal Endovascular Repair (TEVAR). The developed tools will allow for endograft sizing, and surgical planning of the following vascular pathologies: Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms (TAAs), Thoraco-Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (TAAAs), and Thoracic Aortic Dissections (TADs). Their development will require addressing the specifics of TEVAR planning; in particular, concerning the aspects of segmentation, vascular analysis, visualisation and planning. The integration of these features into the eVida Vascular product (marketed by eMedica, S.L.) will extend its reach, covering most of the endovascularly manageable aortic pathologies.
