Abstract

The high growth of ICT approaches brings opportunities for novel applications in the fields of meteorology and environment. The capacity of measuring more parameters and the broader access to them increases significantly the amount of data, which requires new systems and platforms for the analysis, monitoring graphical representation of geospatial information.
This paper presents a platform designed to optimize the management of all the information generated by spatially distributed weather and environmental monitoring stations. The platform is connected to the station network so it receives stores and processes all the observations. The incorporation of data aggregation systems is one of the key factors in the development of the platform due to the different nature of the sensors. The validation of the platform has required the integration with real monitoring stations belonging to different meteorology and environmental agencies, permitting the involvement of expert knowledge.
