Multimedia and 5G Distribution

Thanks to telecommunications networks, including the latest advances offered by 5G technologies, we research end-to-end solutions for the distribution of multimedia content in any environment, by means of low-delay adaptive streaming technologies and adding intelligent control to the session to maximise the user’s experience and reduce costs for the content providers.

Augmented Audiovisual Content

Augmented Audiovisual Content

These technologies make possible advanced production tools for the creation of augmented audiovisual formats with computer graphics and advertising elements which enrich content with additional information for the viewer, or replacing advertising objects imperceptibly for the user, and always in a manner which is totally integrated with the content.

Audience Measurement

This cover technologies to measure a group of people physically gathered as the audience of an event (a concert, a play, etc.), using computer vision to detect how many people there are, their movements, where they fix their attention or whether they express information by means of body movement or facial emotions. Additionally, this information is complemented with biometric and ambient sensors and with indoor location technologies, enabling knowledge of the audience’s reaction at all times. This is also complemented with remote user-tracking technology when they access services by means of the internet, facilitating knowledge regarding their interaction and use of the application, making it possible to personalise the interface and the way of interacting for each user.

3D Media Visualisation and Interaction

3D Media Visualisation and Interaction

Our team carries out research into authoring tools with technology for the visualisation of 3D Media, which can require multiple video views, different audio tracks, images, point clouds and complex 3D models through web technologies, offering optimised and adapted interfaces making possible interaction and synchronisation of different multimedia elements. It tackles performance challenges to view videos and a high volume of data simultaneously, maintaining precision of all components at frame level.

Multi-screen Adaptive Orchestration

These are technologies for the discovery and association of devices, the synchronisation of multiple devices and the adaptation of the interfaces to each of them, offering the user a unique experience through multiple screens at the same time. This applies to hybrid TV environments with second screens, such as completing a programme by means of HbbTV 2.0 technology, or in an industrial environment, where an operator takes decisions based on a control panel made up of multiple screens.
