Aim of the project

The general aim of the TWINHOTEL project is the research, design, implementation and validation of a new platform for the management of key activities in sustainable hotel operations related to the optimization of the new “green” demand, the management of resources (water, energy, waste), the improvement of air quality, and the predictive maintenance (among others) based on the concept of digital twin, to support decision-making for the development of new sustainable hotel models that meet the needs of the ecological transition

Role of Vicomtech

Vicomtech’s role is to support the implementation of predictive consumption models (water, energy and waste) as well as the predictive maintenance of critical equipment. Work is also being done on the monitoring and optimization of air quality through multi-physical agent-based simulations.

Technologies used and sector of application

The general technologies being used in the project are: Simulations and optimization through reinforcement learning, Machine Learning and Deep Learning for demand prediction and time series analysis and anomalies detection. In addition, the digital model of a reference hotel in Madrid is being developed, which serves as a use case for technologies applicable to the hotel sector in general.
