Digitally assisted compensation of misalignments in die cutting of cardboard

A first aspect of the invention relates to a system for compensating misalignments of a die for cutting cardboard of a die cutter, comprising: a processor configures to detect heightcorrecting elements in an image of a correction template for the die, and further configured to produce a digital file comprising a digital representation of detected height-correcting elements in an image of a correction template fo the die, and further configured to produce a digital file comprising a digital representation of detected height-correcting elements; and an optical device for projecting images configured to project the digital representation of the digital file on a pressure compensation plate of the die cutter.
The system digitally assists in the task of compensating misalignments in the die, that is, the task of compensating the non-uniform pressure applied by the die and the press coupled thereto. The system does not stick or adhere height-correcting tapes for compensating the misalignments, accordingly an operator must still carry out this task, but the operator may do so with the assistance of the system that projects a digital representation of the correction template.
