Vicomtech (www.vicomtech.org) is an Applied Research Centre -privately held- specialised in Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing and Interaction located in Donostia – San Sebastián (Spain). Vicomtech is member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), and GraphicsMedia.net, an international network specialised in Computer Graphics (www.graphicsmedia.net). With 7 departments and about 170 researchers –more than 60 PhDs- and over 80 scientific publications per year, Vicomtech promotes the use of the latest state-of-the-art technologies in applications that support the cycle of innovation in companies and institutions of our environment, including those from the healthcare and biotechnological sectors. With a strong focus on applied research for industrial problems, approximately 50% of the centre’s activity is contracted, 20% on European projects –such as Horizon 2020- and 30% from national and regional grants, obtained mostly from competitive calls.
We are looking for motivated candidates with demonstrated or aligned experience in the field of Digital Health, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, with application to Social Care scenarios or related eHealth scenarios, where we have a series of relevant EU and industrial collaborative research projects.
Candidates must also show experience in research project management in applied research contexts, at regional, national and/or international level, dealing with daily team and project management tasks, meeting deadlines, research objectives and publications, contact with collaborators and clients as well as financial management of research projects.
Candidates must have:
Postdoctoral candidates with at least a PhD degree (or about to finish a PhD) in relevant subjects. A doctorate in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Biomedical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is preferred, but other engineering specialties may be considered.
Experience in technologies such as data capture and integration, data analytics, Big Data, artificial intelligence, decision support systems, personal health coach in Social Care or eHealth contexts, with application to (frailty) diagnosis, stratification and risk analysis, care plan (self-)management, activity monitoring and anomaly detection, independent living, etc.
Experience in collaborative research project management. Experience in participation / management of EU projects or large-scale projects will be considered.
High level of written and spoken English. Spanish is not mandatory, although it will be positively considered.
