Cloud-LSVA: Cloud Large Scale Video Analysis

From the 27^th to the 29^th of January the Cloud-LSVA project’s kick off meeting took place in Dublin. Cloud-LSVA brings together leading international firms and institutions: CEA LIST, Dublin City University, Intel, ERTICO, IBM, Intempora, TASS, TomTom, Technical University of Eindhoven, University of Limerick, Valeo, and Vicomtech-IK4, as the project coordinator.

The objective of Cloud-LSVA is to create Big Data Technologies to address the open problem of a lack of software tools, and hardware platforms, to annotate petabyte scale video datasets, with the focus on the automotive industry. Annotations of road traffic objects, events and scenes are critical for training and testing computer vision techniques that are the heart of modern Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Navigation systems. Providing this capability will establish a sustainable basis to drive forward automotive Big Data Technologies.

This research and innovation action led by Vicomtech-IK4 started in January 2016 and has a duration of 36 months. Cloud-LSVA has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 688099.
