RTVE and VICOMTECH collaborate to promote accessibility to audiovisual content
They will validate the IDAZLE project technology, which converts audios into written texts and "learns" through an advanced Artificial Intelligence system.
The Corporate General Director of RTVE, Federico Montero and the General Director of Vicomtech, Visual Interaction and Communications Technologies, Julián Flórez, have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the tests of the IDAZLE project, Platform for the generation of Automatic subtitling that has been selected within the I Call of Impulsa Vision RTVE- Companies on Accessibility to Audiovisual Contents.
Impulsa Vision - Companies is the initiative, which within the general framework of Impulsa Vision RTVE, is aimed at public and private entities, academic institutions and foundations that wish to collaborate with this public Corporation by testing innovative or transforming projects and products in their facilities and equipment in the audiovisual field, which are considered of practical use by RTVE.
The IDAZLE project presented by VICOMTECH consists of an "advanced speech to text" system, usable both in the official language throughout the State, as well as in some co-officials of the Autonomous Communities, capable of "learning and improving" automatically thanks to to the advanced technology in Artificial Intelligence that it has integrated, in order to facilitate access and improve the user experience to the content offered by the different RTVE platforms.
The tests will begin in October 2020, will last for three months with the possibility of extending them to another three additional months, and will have the participation and monitoring of a mixed team from VICOMTECH and RTVE.
In this way, both entities, leaders in their respective fields, reinforce their commitment to technological innovation with the practical aim of increasing and improving the products and services offered to society.
