Successful conclusion of the Automatic Live Subtitling Test based on Artificial Intelligence technologies
Last Wednesday, 25th May, took place the Conference: "Artificial Intelligence for the new social challenges" organised by the ONCE Foundation, in which a step further was taken and a parallel streaming with automatic subtitling was carried out to improve the accessibility of the conference.

This new development represents a clear evolution in the quality of the results with respect to the technologies that had been used until now for the subtitling of live events and contents.
The result showed a maturity of the technology that made it possible to follow the event with very few seconds of delay with respect to the original broadcast, but providing a perfect synchronisation between audio and subtitle.
In this way, Vicomtech continues working to be a reference in the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to language technologies, not only in majority languages, but also in minority languages such as Basque. In this way, it seeks to continue providing added value to companies, administrations and the general public in the surrounding area.
The next research steps are moving towards the combination of their automatic translation and speech processing technology to achieve live automatic subtitling and translation for languages never seen before, such as the Basque language.
