Vicomtech takes the III edition of the Big Sky Earth training-school

04.04.2018

From April 4th to 7th Vicomtech holds the third edition of the BigSkyEarth training-school. This event gets together researchers from different European countries on the field of Earth observation and astronomy. This years’ edition counts with 10 teachers from 6 different countries, and 24 students from 16 countries. The event is financed by the COST action of the European Commission.

The training-school deals with the most revolutionary data processing and analysis data, as well as latest tools that allow processing enormous data in an optimal and efficient way. Some of the subjects include parallel processing, use of GPUs and Deep Learning. This training-school has a double objective, on the one hand, science dissemination of the latest advances in computing, and, on the other hand, the establishment of science-bonds among different European countries.

Vicomtech, on its scientific vocation, is pleased to organise and hold this training-school by offering participants with necessary material resources (high performance computing servers, screens, computers, etc.), as well as experienced researchers and technical personnel to guarantee a satisfactory result for all parts.
