Vicomtech (www.vicomtech.org) is a private Applied Research Centre specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing, and Interaction, located in Donostia-San Sebastián and Bilbao. We have a strong national presence in applying cutting-edge AI technologies across multiple sectors. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our new Generative AI for Industrial Engineering line, aiming to develop innovative solutions with a real impact on the business landscape. You will focus on applying AI to CAD/CAM/CAE environments, contributing to critical functions such as constrained design generation and optimization, and building multimodal systems that integrate text, geometry, and simulation.
What you will do:
- Develop Generative AI solutions applied to CAD/CAM/CAE for technical design generation and optimization.
- Build advanced multimodal systems combining text, geometry, and simulation.
- Develop LLM-based tools (RAG, Agents) integrated into engineering workflows.
- Generate and utilize synthetic data for model training and validation.
- Design functional prototypes and contribute to the line's technological stack.
- Validate developed solutions in real industrial use cases.
Candidates must have:
- Master’s degree in computer engineering or a related field.
- PhD or a strong interest in pursuing one in this field.
- Solid experience in Python and applied Machine Learning (PyTorch or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI (LLMs, Transformers, generative models) and their integration into applications.
- Experience building systems with LLMs (RAG, Agents).
- Ability to manage complex and technical data (ingestion pipelines, processing, and evaluation of multimodal data).
- Practical knowledge of CAD/Engineering tools (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks...) and 3D geometry.
- High level of English and Spanish.
We value candidates:
- Experience in advanced multimodal AI (LMMs / VLMs).
- Experience with computational geometry and CAD data (B-Rep, parsing, etc.).
- Knowledge of generative design, constrained optimization, and simulation (CAE/FEM).
- Experience in synthetic data generation and evaluation.
- Knowledge of PLM systems and industrial workflows.
- Scientific publications, technical contributions, or relevant projects in the field.
- Knowledge of Basque.
