Vicomtech (www.vicomtech.org) is a private Applied Research Centre specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing, and Interaction, located in Donostia-San Sebastián and Bilbao, with a strong national presence in applying cutting-edge AI technologies across multiple sectors. We are members of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and GraphicsVision.ai, an international network specialized in Computer Graphics (https://graphicsvision.ai/).
We are looking for a profile with a strong research vocation to join the Connected, Cooperative and Autonomous Systems department. You will join the Semi-Automatic Data Processing line, contributing to the development of critical technologies for the future of mobility.
You will participate in state-of-the-art projects where AI applied to automatic annotation and data sovereignty (Data Spaces) are the pillars for the next generation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Candidates should be currently pursuing or willing to start a doctoral process.
Candidates must have:
- Backend Mastery: Solid knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and Python for microservices development and logical processing.
- APIs and Connectivity: Advanced design of RESTful APIs and knowledge of event-driven communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, Kafka).
- Fullstack Mindset: Ability to develop functional interfaces in TypeScript (Angular/React) will be positively valued.
- Data Pipelines: Ability to design massive data processing workflows (ETL/ELT).
- Cloud Ecosystem: Knowledge of deployment and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
- Modular Architectures: Familiarity with design patterns, clean code, and distributed systems.
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Telecommunications. Other technical degrees (Mathematics, Physics) will be valued.
- University Master's Degree: It is highly valued to hold a Master's degree that qualifies for access to PhD programs (AI, Computing, Robotics, etc.).
- Languages: Spanish High / Native level (C1-C2). English B2 level (Technical competence for reading, writing scientific articles, and international meetings).
