Vicomtech (www.vicomtech.org) is a private Applied Research Center specialized in Artificial Intelligence, Visual Computing, and Interaction located in Donostia-San Sebastián and Bilbao, with a strong national presence in applying cutting-edge AI technologies across multiple sectors. We are members of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and GraphicsVision.ai, an international network specialized in Computer Graphics (https://graphicsvision.ai/).
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with 2 to 3 years of experience in backend development and frontend support to join innovative projects at the center. The selected candidate will bring a solid background in web development and systems integration, apply best practices, and explore emerging technologies (AI, RAG, data), excelling in autonomy, adaptability, and teamwork.
Candidates must have:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in backend development, with the ability to handle and resolve frontend tasks when required by the project.
- Proven experience in PHP, with special consideration for frameworks such as CakePHP (or equivalent frameworks like Laravel or Symfony).
- Proficiency in relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.), including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience in API design and integration (REST/GraphQL), service-oriented architectures, and the use of middleware for inter-system communication.
- Autonomy, prioritization skills, and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills, collaborative spirit, and ability to work in a team.
- Adaptability, technical curiosity, and continuous motivation for learning and disruptive technologies.
We value candidates:
- DevOps and Deployment: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- AI-Assisted Development: Efficient workflows utilizing tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or spec-driven development methodologies.
- Quality and Best Practices: Testing experience (unit, integration, regression) and Clean Code principles.
- Applied AI and Integration: Implementation and maintenance of product-level AI solutions (LangChain, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol - MCP) and development/integration of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems or similar.
- Data and Business Intelligence: Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, data modeling, and data architecture.
- Mobile Development: Experience developing native or hybrid applications for Android and iOS.
