Vicomtech Named Key Innovator by the European Commission

The European Commission, through the public Innovation Radar portal, has recognised three new Vicomtech innovations developed collaboratively within different European projects. This recognition reflects Vicomtech’s commitment to applied research, the transfer of knowledge into real-world solutions, and the centre’s role as a European benchmark in digital technologies.

Recently, Innovation Radar has awarded three new innovations to Vicomtech, adding to the existing ones and bringing the centre’s total number of innovations on the portal to 18. Among the new innovations are developments from flagship projects such as LUMINOUS, which focuses on XR systems enhanced with language capabilities to enable intuitive interaction in immersive environments. This technology allows users to interact through natural language and adaptive avatars, providing support in neurorehabilitation, industrial safety training, and 3D architectural design review, by combining artificial intelligence, extended reality, and multimodal models for complex and personalised environments.

In the field of connected and automated mobility, Vicomtech now adds the SYNERGIES platform innovation, a platform that integrates a “Scenario Dataspace” and a marketplace of CCAM solutions, enabling the safe and efficient testing and deployment of automated mobility technologies. This project fosters collaboration between companies and research centres, accelerating innovation in transport and road safety.

Meanwhile, the innovation developed within the PLIADES project automates multimodal data annotation, optimising data management and analysis in industrial environments through advanced processing and predictive maintenance systems. This improves operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the manufacturing and energy industries.

This recognition highlights not only the market creation potential of these innovations but also the presence of female leadership in their development, emphasizing Vicomtech’s inclusive and results-oriented vision.

Being named a Key Innovator reaffirms Vicomtech’s leadership in applied research and innovative solutions, consolidating our position as a European benchmark in technological innovation and knowledge transfer.
