Building a bridge between the Creative Industries and ICTs

We would like to invite you to our networking session named “Building a bridge between the Creative Industries and the ICTs” that will take place on Thursday 7^th of November from 14:00 to 15:30.

The session will discuss about the technological needs of the European Creative Industries to enhance and share their creations, from the most traditional industries such as handcrafting to the emerging trends in cross and transmedia. The use of ICT has a significant impact on all the phases of the production chain of the CIs (conception, production, distribution, access to audiences and engagement in feedback from the audience/market).

Based on an interactive question-answer dialogue conducted by a moderator, participants will comment on different aspects of the current state of the pair creative sector-ICTs, the opportunities foreseen when adopting digital technologies, the challenges envisioned for the creative sector, the technological advances that will best support growth and development in the creative industries, and the actions public bodies should do to improve the situation.

The output of the session should include recommendations about the R&D needs in three main areas of potential impact of ICTs in Creative industries: innovative products based on digital content or software applications; means of increasing and transforming business processes or business models themselves; and means of engaging with and strengthening the relationship with the consumer.
