Collaboration agreement between the National Paraplegic Hospital and Irisbond

21.11.2014

The National Paraplegic Hospital in Toledo, managed by the government in Castile-La Mancha, and Irisbond, whose technological partner is Vicomtech-IK4, have reached a collaboration agreement. According to this agreement, Irisbond will transfer equipment to the bone-marrow-damage specialized centre for their patients to use it.

Thanks to this system, people with serious mobility problems will be able to access a computer’s common functions (such as surfing the Net, writing texts, sending emails or whatsapps, listening to the music) by using the movement of their eyes.

The aim of Irisbond is to develop systems based on communication-assisted technologies, like Eye Tracking, applied to different sectors for instance disability, industrial integration or science applications.
