Lotura, Gureak and Vicomtech achieve a Hazitek with the project Denok 4.0
The priority of the three organisations is to help people with high support needs

The project, called Denok4.0, focuses on researching technologies that support people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness in their daily work. The project brings together Gureak, Lotura and is supported by the Vicomtech technology centre. DENOK4.0 has received funding through the HAZITEK Business R&D Support Programme promoted by the Technology and Strategy Directorate of the Basque Government's Department of Economic Development and Infrastructures.
The priority in the project is to focus research on helping people with high support needs. This profile, classified as P+Na, is made up of people with intellectual disabilities and mental illnesses. Gureak has a staff of more than 3,000 people with this profile who require continuous support throughout their working life, both in Gureak's production plant and in the client's facilities.
Denok4.0 is part of Gureak's industrial activity and cleaning services area. In the case of cleaning services, the activity is usually carried out in residences, hotels, hospitals, etc. The inclusion of assistive technology will allow them to be more autonomous in carrying out the tasks and to be less dependent on the person in charge. The manager will have a role in reviewing the quality of the work performed and will be able to keep a record of the tasks in real time.
Denok4.0 will be tested by Gureak users in different use cases that will validate the usability of the technology. The final objective is the creation of a platform that allows managers to configure the tasks to be carried out by each person according to their skills. The employees will be provided with mobile devices during the performance of the tasks.
Broadly speaking, the platform will allow:
- Location and guidance of people using Bluetooth Low Energy technology and mobile phones.
- Profile management and adaptation of the technology according to the support needs of each person.
- Analysis and monitoring of work and learning of profiles.
- In the industrial plant, assistance to operators using Spatial Augmented Reality (SAR) technology.
