RAISE EU PROJECT Workshop. Advancing Open Science: Perspectives and Practices

Event co-organised between Biogipuzkoa & Vicomtech.

Objectives

The session aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of Open Science practices, supporting services, and more inclusive research evaluation approaches. Through insightful presentations, participants will explore key topics in advancing Open Science, such as skills training, and supporting services, as well as international perspective and implementation strategy, and learn about the FAIR compliance debt concept. By bringing together experts, practitioners, and policy and decision makers we aspire to promote collaboration, share best practices, and chart a path toward a more open and transparent research ecosystem.

The event is promoted by Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute, actively engaged in the dissemination of Open Science in the region, and by VICOMTECH Research and Technology Organisation, a partner of the EOSC-RAISE project funded by Horizon Europe that will be presented in the session.

Who is the Workshop aimed to?

This event aims to engage key stakeholders within the Basque Country’s research ecosystem and Community.

The workshop may be of interest for the following profiles:

• Research Performers: Scientists, academics, and industry professionals actively contributing to research and innovation in the Basque region. They will gain insights into open science practices, data management, and holistic research evaluation tailored to their local context
• Institutional Research Responsibles: Representatives from Basque universities, research centres, and funding agencies. These decision-makers play a crucial role in shaping research policies and strategies specific to the Basque ecosystem
• Research Policy Makers: Basque government officials, policymakers, and regional stakeholders. They influence research funding, regulations, and strategic priorities.

By fostering collaboration among these local stakeholders, we aim to strengthen the Basque Country’s research community, promote open science principles, and drive innovation within our unique ecosystem.
