Vicomtech hosts the meeting of the European project 5G META

The day that brought together the members of the 5G META consortium came to a successful conclusion, during which Vicomtech, as coordinator of the project, received the members of the consortium on July 5 and 6 in Miramón in a face-to-face meeting. During the conference, various issues related to the evaluation of the progress, results and progress of the project were discussed for the mid-term review, which will take place in September. In addition, the meetings also took the necessary actions to plan the second part of the project.

The 5GMETA open platform aims to leverage data captured by cars to stimulate, facilitate and feed innovative products and services. The outcome of 5GMETA will empower the automotive ecosystem, from industry players to new entrants, such as SMEs and high-tech start-ups, by enabling access to interoperable data captured by cars under data licensing. Access to data from relevant geographic regions catalyses the generation of new opportunities and business models from valuable services, where responsibility and billing for data will be based on the data flow subscription and volume consumption accountability dashboard.

A project for future value creation and business models to ensure that, in addition, the interests and needs of third parties and new players are taken into account beyond the traditional automotive industries in an emerging and profitable market.
