Development of advanced vision solutions to measure and monitor the infrastructure.

VICASENS

The VICASENS project was created to address the growing need for preventive and predictive maintenance in the railway sector. Its main objective is to develop advanced demonstrators that can be installed directly on railway vehicles. These systems will enable the collection of key infrastructure data in real time with high precision and reliability.
The project focuses on monitoring track geometry, track wear, and catenary geometry, all of which are critical parameters for ensuring operational safety and system availability.
With the information gathered, it will be possible to more accurately predict the condition of the infrastructure and detect potential issues before they impact service. This will help optimize maintenance planning, reduce costs, and minimize disruptions in railway operations.
VICASENS aims to promote a predictive maintenance model, improving the efficiency and reliability of the railway system. It also opens the door to integrating advanced technologies into trains for continuous and real-world use.
