Holistic and in-process metrology for production control

From a scientific and technological point of view, the objective of the METROtek project is to carry out collaborative fundamental research among the main R&D agents in the Basque Country in the field of dimensional metrology applied within the manufacturing process involving high customization. This knowledge will serve as a lever to address the challenges posed by the Smart Industry strategy established in the PCTI 2030 framework. In addition, an important goal of the project is to promote collaboration and achieve a high level of scientific and technological excellence among the consortium’s members and participating entities.

The accuracy and precision of measurements during the manufacturing process not only ensure the quality of the final product, but also represent a key pillar for implementing sustainable manufacturing practices, allowing for a significant reduction in material waste, improvement of intelligent processes, and optimization of energy resources.

Specifically, the Scientific and Technological Objectives (STOs) defined in the METROtek proposal are structured according to the Work Packages, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are established to quantify the degree of achievement of these objectives.
