IRAZ: AI based Easy-to-Read

Context

Easy-to-read aims to facilitate access to information for people with reading difficulties. With the goal of supporting experts in this field and fostering the creation of new accessible content, this tool has been developed to streamline the process.

Developed solution

IRAZ is a platform where users can provide a text in Basque or Spanish, either by uploading a file or by pasting it directly into a text box. The system attempts to adapt the original text using simple words, short sentences and clear formulations, organizing the main ideas into sections with clear headings. In addition, explanations are added for more complex key concepts, and the platform allows the automatic segmentation of sentences to facilitate reading. These adaptation and segmentation suggestions must be reviewed by an expert, who provides the necessary corrections before validating and exporting the final version for use.

Implemented technologies

The IRAZ platform is based on Artificial Intelligence technology. The system uses these capabilities to attempt to provide automatic text adaptations and segmentations.
