Pre-LSDemo Preparing for Large Scale Demonstrations

Pre-LSDemo is a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) under Horizon Europe, designed to prepare the foundation for future large-sclae demonstrations of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM). The project is structured around a unique and ambitous propostion: to unify the three key strategic domains of CCAM (individual mobility, public/ shared transport, and freight logistics) into a single, integrated demonstration plan. Each domain presents distinct technological, societal, and business requirements. By harmonizing them within one coordinated initiative, Pre-LSDemo aims to deliver the building blcoks for scalable, cross-border CCAM deployment across Europe. This includes a mdoular societal readiness framework, a multi- stakeholder forum for co-creation, a consolidated methodology and evaluation toolkit, and CCAM demonstration outreach & promotion strategy. 

A cornerstone of the project´s methodology is the implementation of a multi-dimensional CCAM demonstration readiness assessment, which underpins the development of the integrated demonstration plan. This assessment ensures that all foundational elements, including use case inventory and maturity evaluation, identification of common and domain-specific challenges, and identification of suitable demonstration sites are rigorously evaluated against a consistent set of readiness criteria. These criteria span five key dimensions: societal, regulatory, technological, infrastructural, and market & transport system integration, ensuring a holistic and evidence-based approach to planning. 

Aligned with the strategic vision of the CCAM partnership, Pre-LSDemo will accelerate the scale up of pre-competitive CCAM deployment, contributing to a safe, inclusive and sustainable European mobility ecosystem. The project´s outcomes will enable scalable, interoperable, and trusted mobility solutions that reflect Europe´s commitment to safety, sustanibility and citizen-centric innovation.
