Precision engineering for the improvement of manufacturing means

The ultimate goal of the project is to investigate improvements in the precision of production and handling methods in order to boost intermediate performance indicators such as innovation capacity, competitiveness, sustainability and employment in the Basque Country. This proposal seeks to promote and guide the generation of knowledge in sustainable production technologies and digital technologies, in this case from precision engineering towards the development of best-in-class manufacturing solutions with high potential impact on Basque industry.
The Precitek project does not focus on the manufacturing process as such, analysing and understanding the variables of the process and the data that arise from it, but rather focuses on the means of manufacturing and how to improve and maintain the precision of these means during the manufacturing process. This proposal addresses several of the technologies identified as strategic in the working document: "Smart Industry Strategy/Basque Industry 4.0 within the framework of PCTI 2030: a) Advanced manufacturing technologies, b) Mechatronic systems, c) Artificial intelligence, and d) Intelligent automation and robotics.
