Real time control and embedded security

REMEDY

Duration:

01.07.2021 - 31.12.2022

Remedy's technological objectives fall within the following areas:

-Awareness of risk in the organisation's operational environment (OT). Most measures continue to be required in the IT part of the organisation. This IT context is better known and there are different technical and technological approaches for the industry that have been explored in previous projects.

- Improving cybersecurity and monitoring and control tools in the lower layers of automation. Specifically, in layers 0, 1 and 2, which include everything from sensors to SCADA/HMI and their equivalents in each use case. The integration of real-time systems and IT systems, ensuring security in context change.

- Improve confidence in critical sectors of digitalisation. The manufacturing industry to reduce the impacts of inadequate digital transformation. The energy industry to mitigate cascading effects on other critical infrastructures that are affected. The healthcare industry to support and assist with digitalisation needs in a context of global collaboration.

On the other hand, REMEDY's strategic objectives are as follows:

- Positioning Basque companies in the currently under-explored niche of industrial cybersecurity. The industry includes suppliers of robotics, automation, industrial components, specialised equipment and machine tools. The protection of these technologies is approached from external perimeters, but in the case of critical operations, this approach is clearly insufficient.

- Supporting the driving force of the CYBASQUE association in the local business community. To this end, it aims to propose the members of the Association as an effective transfer mechanism to the end-user industry.

- Generating and offering specific tools to solve endemic problems in the sector. Industrial companies often have problems managing their industrial equipment with the same flexibility with which they manage their IT equipment.

- Support the technical implementation of regulations in each sector. Legislation on critical and sensitive infrastructure, as well as the technical standards of the different sectors and control measures, must be interpreted and implemented in each of the production chains. Providing an interpretation and a compliance model will make it easier for them to focus on meeting their business objectives.
