Aim of the project

The objective of SENDAI is to develop the bases of technological development and applied research in industrial cybersecurity. In this sense, it follows the trail of the Sekutek and Cyberprest projects, which started the research in this field, but with a strong focus on the promotion of the Laboratories that are part of the Cybersecurity Node of the Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH), or can join it. In this way, the creation and consolidation of a pole of public-private knowledge in Industrial Cybersecurity in the Basque Country will be promoted, providing the industry with a differential value in its competitiveness abroad and making it more robust and resilient in a context where the number of cyber attacks on the industry is constantly increasing.

Role of Vicomtech

In this industrial cyber security project, Vicomtech's work is focused on the development of technology for the detection of Commitment Indicators based on the behaviour of the industrial control systems (ICS), its application in the context of the extension of physical cyber Ranges and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the security analysis of systems, networks and blockchain infrastructures.

Technologies used

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine learning

Sector of application

Security analysis of blockchain systems, networks and infrastructures.

Project partners

This research project has brought together the nine most relevant RVCTI agents in the field of cyber security in the Basque Country. The Centres and Universities we collaborate with are: TECNALIA (as project leader), IKERLAN, BCAM, CEIT, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Tecnun, UPV/EHU and the University of Deusto.

Finance

SENDAI has been financed by the Department of Economic Development and Infrastructures of the Basque Government, through its program ELKARTEK 2019, being aligned with the strategy of the BCSC (Basque CyberSecurity Centre).
