The industry is currently undergoing a rapid digital transformation, driven by automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced connectivity. In this regard, 5G networks are emerging as a connectivity option capable of delivering high speeds, ultra-low latency and massive connectivity. However, the growing complexity of critical applications in dynamic industrial environments, such as autonomous mobile robots, real-time digital twins or distributed control systems, demands levels of latency, reliability, adaptability and resilience that current 5G networks cannot always guarantee. This is driving the transition towards Beyond-5G or 6G architectures that are smarter, more resilient and capable of offering strictly predictable real-time connectivity. Therefore, the 6GBAIZTA project will develop Beyond-5G (B5G) solutions specifically designed to overcome current limitations in critical applications for dynamic environments, addressing these three characteristics.
