A New Milestone for Vicomtech: The Center Achieves ISO 56001 Certification in Innovation Management Systems

After years of anticipation, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has officially launched ISO 56001. This standard has established itself as the international benchmark, defining auditable requirements for an Innovation Management System. Its primary purpose is to provide a robust framework that systematizes value creation, mitigates the inherent uncertainty of creative processes, and ensures that innovation becomes a sustainable strategic capability over time.

Our commitment to innovation is not recent but the result of a solid and sustained trajectory. In 2006, we were the first Technology Center in the Basque Country and the fourth in Spain to obtain the UNE 166002 certification. This marked a major step in optimizing research, development, and technological innovation processes, ensuring excellence and quality across all organizational aspects of the center.

Since then, every project, collaboration, and challenge we have undertaken has reinforced our belief that innovation must be aligned with solid and rigorous processes capable of generating real and lasting impact.

With the achievement of ISO 56001 certification, Vicomtech has reached a new strategic milestone.
