ASSEMVIS: Visualising scientific data and 3D models interactively in a web browser.

ASSEMVIS

Analysing complex scientific and industrial data often requires high-performance workstations or specialised servers. In web environments, processing large 3D models or medical images can also cause delays and increase infrastructure costs. ASSEMVIS aims to overcome these limitations and make this type of information accessible without the need to install additional software.

To achieve this, the framework uses web technologies such as WebAssembly, WebGL and WebGPU, which make it possible to perform complex calculations and leverage the user's device graphics card. As a result, much of the processing takes place locally, improving visualisation performance, reducing reliance on remote servers and enhancing data privacy.

ASSEMVIS has been validated in several fields, including industrial engineering, healthcare and industrial process monitoring. Applications include visualising and manipulating large CAD models, exploring advanced medical images and analysing sensor signals in real time. This makes complex data more accessible across different platforms and enables users to work with it more efficiently.
