CASMA: Automating industrial processes with collaborative robotics and artificial intelligence.

CASMA

Industry needs to automate increasingly complex tasks, such as disassembling products and recovering components for reuse. However, traditional robots have limitations when handling delicate parts and adapting to changing tasks. CASMA aims to overcome these barriers and enable closer collaboration between people and robots.

To achieve this, the project combines computer vision, artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics. Robots can learn tasks from demonstrations by human operators, without the need to manually program every movement. In addition, voice interaction and visual perception make it possible to coordinate tasks between people and robots in real time.

CASMA also incorporates tools to track component lifecycle information and monitor the energy consumption of individual tasks. These capabilities help optimise processes and improve their sustainability. The project focuses particularly on industrial disassembly to recover valuable components, such as batteries, and promote their reuse as part of the circular economy.
