Deep learning applied to Natural Language Processing as support for the RIS3 areas

The main objective of the project is the research and application of Deep Learning to Natural Language Processing to support the RIS3 Euskadi initiatives, thereby achieving a significant qualitative leap in the performance and quality of these technologies and surpassing the current state of the art. Furthermore, the project's main objective is developed through the following scientific and technological goals:

• Applying deep learning and deep neural networks in multiple areas of NLP and with languages ​​from the environment.

• To deepen fundamental research in language and speech technologies to the strategic priorities of Advanced Manufacturing and Biosciences and Human Health and to the niche opportunity of territory.

• To help overcome language barriers so that Basque companies have a competitive advantage in the digital single market and so that Basque is not digitally relegated.

• Promote substantially new multilingual and intelligent technological solutions by exploring innovative ideas based on deep learning.

•  

  Consolidate the DL4NLP consortium as an excellent scientific and technological benchmark in language and voice technologies within the European Research Area.

• To promote and generate a network of scientific collaboration at the international level with world-renowned research centers.

• Substantially improve the scientific and technological transfer of the project's results and quantify its socio-economic impact.

• To work together and continuously with the business sector, in order to adapt and adjust the planned lines of research and projects in the most effective way possible.

• Integrate the knowledge generated from innovative, scientific and technological actions within the framework of training programs in language technologies, advanced manufacturing, and biosciences and human health.
