Inline measurement technology inspection development for high cadence hot stamping processes for automotive components
Medline
Duration:
01.03.2018 - 31.12.2018
This MEDLINE project focuses on developing inspection technology for stamped part properties, specifically hardness, geometric characteristics, and the part's exit temperature from the stamping line. In addition to integrating these inspection technologies, achieving the virtual factory goal also requires that the information generated by these technologies can be processed in real time, enabling line diagnostics where the part's output data is the primary element of analysis.
The following members of the RVCTI (Regional Network of Science, Technology, and Innovation) are participating in this project: AUTOTECH, the R&D unit of the Gestamp Group and an expert in hot stamping processes and thermographic measurement; and CEIT-ik4, whose Materials and Manufacturing division and Information and Communication Technologies division, with its Intelligent Systems for Industry 4.0 and Thermomechanical Processing groups, contribute their expertise in hardness measurement technologies. INNOVALIA, with its Metrology Unit (AIC Automotive Intelligence Center), contributes its valuable expertise in metrology, advanced manufacturing, and the digitalization of processes and businesses to the important automotive sector; TECNALIA has a strong presence in the area of robotics research and control and measurement systems. It participates in numerous European bodies and platforms for the technical and industrial advancement of these technologies, and its collaboration is fundamental to the development of new dimensional control and measurement technologies; and VICOMTECH, an applied research center specializing in information technologies, particularly Visual Computing, Data Analytics & Intelligence, Interactive Digital Media, and Language Technologies, is essential for achieving the unified IT system for information analysis and results visualization that this project seeks.
