Development of new functionalities in flexible robotics to promote the implementation of robots in basque industry.

ELKARBOT

Duration:

01.03.2020 - 31.12.2021

Preparing project entities to combine their expertise from recent decades with new developments aimed at a clear objective: generating new functionalities in the field of robotics that will enable the barriers limiting the adoption of robots in the Basque industrial sector to be broken down in the future.

The ELKARBOT project addresses each of the four technical challenges of robotics adoption (collaboration, autonomy, quality and dexterity, precision and versatility) and works on the development of technologies that minimise these challenges in four application scenarios. Considering the context of the Basque Country and the priorities of the Basque Government's Science and Technology policy, the ELKARBOT scenarios are developed in the main areas defined, which are: advanced manufacturing and energy, with some cases in biosciences/health.

The work packages between PT1 and PT4 are focused on technological development, while PT5 is focused on technological validation scenarios and PT6 on dissemination (both internal and external). The dissemination of ELKARBOT's results is carried out through internal and external activities. Internally, it focuses on strengthening collaboration in robotics technology among partners, while externally it focuses on communication and education for Basque companies and on promoting entrepreneurial initiatives with a view to generating impact at all levels of the value chain: from integrators to end users, as well as in leading companies that would like to diversify to take advantage of the opportunities offered by flexible robotics.
