The Vicomtech technology centre has collaborated with the company Kerma on a technological innovation project as part of the Programme to Support Digital Innovation Hubs (PADIH).

This initiative, funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU), aims to accelerate the digitalisation of SMEs by providing access to high-tech services.

Through this partnership, Kerma has been able to test and evaluate advanced technologies in its processes, minimising financial and technological risks thanks to the 100 per cent funding provided by this state aid.

The project developed by Vicomtech for Kerma has focused on addressing the company’s specific challenges through the application of artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies.

Digital maturity assessment: Kerma’s processes and technological situation have been analysed in detail to identify key opportunities for improvement and define the most appropriate digital roadmap for its business.

Testing and Experimentation Services (“Test before invest”): Kerma has had access to Vicomtech’s infrastructure and expert knowledge to design proof-of-concept tests and trial customised algorithms.

This has enabled the technical feasibility of the digital solutions to be assessed before undertaking large-scale investments, thereby reducing the risk associated with their development.

The PADIH programme is specifically designed to enable SMEs to access the services of Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) free of charge.

In this particular project, the grant has fully covered these diagnostic and preliminary technical validation phases, prior to the investment.
