Manufacturing Intelligence Framework
MIF
Duration:
01.06.2016 - 15.01.2018
The main objective of this project is to implement new mechanisms, architectures, and protocols that address the current limitations in capturing, enriching, and leveraging the value of data produced in an industrial plant. While some tools exist that claim to utilize industrial data, the reality is that the large number of providers (each with its own communication and operating protocol), the sheer volume and high rate of data generation, and the difficulty of using cutting-edge tools such as those provided by Big Data, make it challenging to have a sufficiently adaptable framework capable of efficiently and versatilely serving and analyzing data as it is generated. MIF (Manufacturing Integrated Framework) attempts to propose an SDK or set of libraries that, using existing resources or those generated by the project members, can be used to perform analysis on datasets after their collection through an abstract model such as OPCUA, and present an analytical visualization paradigm that allows, at a glance and through techniques of flexibility and integration of data in the production environment, the analysis and valorization of the information asset produced by the machines, lines and cells that are part of the industrial plant.
