IT for Smart Factory

The LANA II project focuses on the smart factory and vertical integration, in line with the German vision of Industry 4.0. This vision enables cyber-physical systems to create flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing systems by integrating ICT systems at different levels of the manufacturing process.

The LANA II project aligns perfectly with the priority of advanced manufacturing, as its essence lies in incorporating intelligence into manufacturing, aiming for the concept of the smart factory. Following the path of the LANA project, LANA II will further advance this strategy by contributing additional ICT technologies that will boost advanced manufacturing. This will be achieved through the progressive development of technologies that facilitate interconnection between plant entities and enable data collection, as well as the incorporation of new metaphors for interaction between machines and operators that enhance their decision-making processes.
