Comprehensive and adaptive advanced platform for industrial environments

EGIZU

Duration:

25.01.2017 - 24.07.2018

The objective of this project is to research new affective computing techniques and adaptive interfaces that can be applied to management software for industrial environments. Therefore, the aim is to achieve a significant advance in applied research on adaptive and affective interaction that can be integrated and tested in industrial management software. The i68 izaro management platform will be used as a validation and use case, on which the progressive advances of the research will be tested with a representative group of end users. A combination of data from both hardware sensors and software algorithms will be used to inform the adaptation process.

Thus, low-cost devices will be used to locate the user within the plant (e.g., beacons, Wi-Fi antennas), but also information related to the user's specific profile (knowledge and experience) and their emotional state, inferred from the device's camera video input and their interactions with the system. This input will be used to investigate the most appropriate way to adapt the information to the user. This adaptation must be automatic and transparent to the user and will include the content itself, being able to show everything from textual information to complex 3D simulations; and the processes, adapting the process information to the specific needs of each user.
