Personalised medicine: Development of diagnostic tools and cancer therapies

The project PERSONALISED MEDICINE: DEVELOPMENT OF DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS AND THERAPIES IN CANCER (bG18) aims to obtain biomarkers and to develop therapies IN CANCER (bG18) has as its main objective to obtain biomarkers and develop therapies in several high incidence solid tumours such as liver, breast, prostate and colorectal cancer.

In the context of the project, Vicomtech has participated in the validation and characterisation of biomarkers through the image analysis of the biomarker WNT1 and Sox2 in breast cancer. During the project, machine learning and deep learning methods have been developed to identify, classify and quantify the presence of WNT1 and Sox2 biomarkers in pathology images.
