FEDEA

DIGIA

The DIGIA project was created to address the growing need for automation in business processes. By leveraging technologies such as natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision, the project will research and develop new methods to extract, process, and upload information originating from companies’ external communications.

ADIMEN

ADIMEN is a project that expands the capabilities of the GAMES platform to build an intelligent digital archive for analyzing, enriching, and generating multimedia content in text, audio, video, and image formats. It integrates new AI technologies, advanced data analytics, and a centralized search system. The goal is to enhance the exploitation of TOKIKOM’s content and enable the development of innovative applications powered by this data.

IKA

Neural Machine Translation (NMT) has become a leading technology for generating multilingual content, offering significant quality improvements. However, it faces challenges such as domain-specific quality drops, terminological inconsistencies, and lack of document-level coherence. NMT also generates highly fluent translations, making error detection more difficult. Addressing these limitations is crucial for producing certified-quality translations.

DEITU

The main objective of the DEITU project is the development of a platform for recording information from spoken interactions in telephonic and spontaneous environments, designed to be easy to maintain.

STREAMS

The main objective of StreAmS is the development of a cloud-based platform that incorporates connected AI services for transcription, translation, automatic subtitling, and speech synthesis in multiple languages (Basque, Spanish, French, and English). These services are aimed at enhancing and providing added and differentiating value to the current processes and solutions of companies across multiple sectors. The project will not only involve high-tech R&D activities but will also focus on developing a solution that allows easy integration of all its functionalities into companies’ existing processes and solutions, covering a wide variety of use cases and needs (see section 2.1.4). StreAmS is designed to provide and enable agile and dynamic information streaming and generation workflows, with correct performance being critical in different application scenarios, both streaming (real-time processing) and micro-batching (processing small batches of files).

EROSKVIA

This project falls within the scope of digitalization, aiming to unify and standardize the large amount of available information and to improve the service provided by VIAJES EROSKI advisors.

INNVIC

The objective of the “INNVIC” project is to incorporate new algorithms and tools based on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning related to natural language processing, enabling an increasing number of operations in information processing to be automated, thereby relieving analysts of operational tasks. This allows analysts to focus exclusively on generating strategic value by interpreting and aligning information with the company’s vision. The resulting tools will make it possible to retrain the AI models so they can be adapted to different challenges, domains, or needs as they evolve.

LIDO

The main objective of the LINTU IA Edge 5G project is to design and develop an advanced monitoring and predictive maintenance system for Linear Positioning Systems (LPS). This system is based on applying artificial intelligence techniques to high-frequency signals from accelerometers and acoustic emission sensors, leveraging the latest advancements in Edge/Cloud computing and 5G communications.

G-SMART

The G-SMART5.0 project drives the transformation toward a more flexible, agile, and efficient Basque industry through a new model of virtual, intelligent, and hyperconnected factory. In response to market uncertainty and global competition, it leverages advanced digitalization, 5G, and virtualization to create more resilient plants. Its holistic approach integrates production, logistics, and real-time decision-making. The initiative positions Euskadi and Gestamp at the forefront of the Smart Factory of the future.

ACCUBASK

The ACCUBASK project aims to achieve a qualitative leap in production systems through precision engineering and advanced metrology technologies. Its goal is to enable intelligent, efficient, and sustainable processes while ensuring zero-defect parts. The project focuses on precision as a differentiating factor compared to other industrial initiatives in Euskadi. The consortium includes leading companies and specialized research centers to address the identified technological challenges.

CONFLES

Aeroespazio sektoreak erronka handiak ditu nikela eta titanioa bezalako superaleazioak mekanizatzean, material hauek zailak baina beharrezkoak direlako motorren zona beroetan. EGILEk automatizazio handiko NGV eta palen artezketa-prozesu berritzailea garatu du, sektoreko produktibitatea nabarmen hobetuz eta ITP Aero eta Safran bezalako enpresen interesa piztuz. Abantaila hori mantentzeko, ezinbestekoa da I+G proiektuetan, hala nola CONFLESen, teknologia berriak txertatzen jarraitzea, prozesu kontrolatuago, malguago, eraginkorrago eta jasangarriagoak lortzeko.

THUNDER

The THUNDER project aims to build a trustworthy and responsible generative AI framework for healthcare. By developing advanced models and standardized evaluation methods, it enhances the use of synthetic data in medicine. Its main focus is on sepsis detection and management.

ADIMENDU

The objective of the project is to strengthen scientific and technological capabilities in key areas essential for advancing along the path toward Industry 4.0 and 5.0, with the aim of developing tools that can be transferred to industrial companies in the Basque Country and Gipuzkoa to enhance their competitiveness.

KUBIBIT

To explore methods, algorithms, and approaches in quantum computing and simulation that complement artificial intelligence in the Basque industrial sector. To assess the impact, maturity, and applicability of these technologies in addressing real computational challenges using advanced quantum hardware. To generate a portfolio of industrial property assets applicable to the industrial domain.

BG25

The bG25 project is a biomedical and technological research initiative focused on healthy aging. Its main objective is to develop tools for early diagnosis and prevention of diseases associated with aging, using advanced technologies such as mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, bioimpedance, digital imaging, and analysis through artificial intelligence. The project is carried out in Euskadi and is scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2027.

XWAVE

The project's vision is that, by 2027, the XWAVE consortium will be able to present the Basque manufacturing sector with a first conceptual demonstrator of a modular and scalable manufacturing system, fully software-based and capable of being dynamically reconfigured through digital tools, without the need for any physical modifications.

PERNASVIP

The PERNASVIP project aims to enhance the autonomy of visually impaired people by developing a reliable GNSS-based navigation system. Over 18 months, it will improve a portable guiding device using technologies like EGNOS, integrating multimodal routing and validating its use in urban settings. The project targets a potential market of over 13 million users.

GRACE

The distribution of child sexual exploitation materials is an abhorrent crime. Online service providers' and users’ suspicious material detection technologies are improving. However, the huge amount of referrals collected by law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in combination with limited human resources, manual analysis and the 4 000 % increase in referrals since 2014 prevent their investigative capacity. The EU-funded GRACE project will apply proven techniques in machine learning to the referral and analysis elaboration while appropriately managing the technical, ethical and legal challenges unique to fighting child sexual exploitation. The project will use resources from EUROPOL and its nine Member State LEAs to provide early, frequent and flexible results that will be handed back to EUROPOL and Member State LEAs, helping to ensure their future technological autonomy.

AIDA

Advanced technologies are increasingly used in criminal activities. Identifying, preventing and fighting modern crime demands the implementation of pioneering technologies and methods. The EU-funded AIDA project is focussing on cybercrime and terrorism by approaching specific issues related to law enforcement agencies (LEAs) using pioneering machine learning and artificial intelligence methods. The project will deliver a descriptive and predictive data analytics platform and related tools which will prevent, identify, analyse and combat cybercrime and terrorist activities. The platform is based on the fundamental technology applied to Big Data analytics provided with AI and deep learning techniques expanded and tailored with additional crime-specific capabilities and tools. The system will be delivered to LEAs through a safe sandbox environment, improving the technological readiness level in operational conditions with real data.
