3DTUTOR: Interoperable System of Virtual Tutorial and Assistance oriented to motivational processes on Cognitive Development
The project 3DTUTOR: Interoperable System of Virtual Tutorial and Assistance oriented to motivational processes on Cognitive Development with file number IPT-2011-0889-900000 has been funded by Ministerio de Ciencia and in project mode or cooperative action under the subprogram INNPACTO during 2011-2013, within the instrumental line Articulation and Internationalisation of the System under the National Scientific Research, Technological Development and Innovation Plan, 2008-2011.
The aim of 3DTUTOR is the Design, Development and Implementation of a Virtual and Smart 3DTutorial System that is interoperable with multiple platforms and systems and that coordinates the immersive and personalised virtual teaching processes.
3DTUTOR will be represented by a 3D avatar whose role will be to guide each student through the different units. The objective is that the student could obtain knowledge in an autonomous and customised way, without the need of the presence of a real tutor. The system will help the student through three different channels:
- Motivation through emotional intelligence.
- Evaluation of the student.
- Personalised teaching
Thus, the role of the virtual teacher is included in an immersive eLearning System, without the need of the presence of a real tutor. So, the quality of asynchronous and distance education is improved.
The real tutor will be able to make a remote monitoring of the student’s evolution thanks to the evolution profile of each student that 3DTUTOR system will generate automatically. In addition this evolution profile is useful to modify the answers of the virtual tutor and to adapt the method of teaching.
The project is leaded by ALECOP, SDAD. COOP. Other participants are Centro de Tecnologías de Interacción Visual y Comunicaciones VICOMTECH, Virtualware 2007, S.A., Mondragon Goi Eskola Politekninoa (Jose M. Arizmendiarrieta S.Coop.), Mondragon Lingua S.Coop., Isea S.Coop. and Universidad de Málaga.
