A look at energy efficiency
SOA
Duration:
01.01.2014 - 30.06.2015
The SOA project focuses on developing an intelligent platform aimed at improving energy efficiency in residential buildings. It integrates advanced technologies for capturing, processing, and visualizing energy data, combining statistical modeling, data ingestion modules, and interactive web tools. The system collects information from sensors, social networks, and various channels, stores it in scalable databases, and generates predictive models of household energy behavior.
The platform also provides functionalities to suggest behavioral changes, estimate economic benefits, and automatically create consumption profiles. Built on cloud infrastructure, the solution uses RESTful services and Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark and MongoDB. The project includes both quantitative validation using real data and extensive testing with synthetic datasets when necessary.
Although the domestic-use scenario has not yet been fully tested due to limited real data, SOA has shown strong potential in industrial environments, where statistical modeling offers significant added value. Overall, the project has delivered a robust, scalable technological solution aligned with current trends in energy efficiency and data-driven decision making.
